United Nations
The United Nations is an International Organisation which was created to ensure peace globally. The "4 Policemen" who ensure that peace is kept in the world and to prevent the outbreak of another world war include Russia, China, United States and Britain. These countries including France have the power to veto. The United Nations was decided upon at the Yalta Conference and created in June 1945, and was to accomplish what the the League of Nations had previously failed to do. Roosevelt was very passionate about the Idea of the United Nations at the Yalta Conference but died before he could see it through. Harry Truman took over once Roosevelt died. This was significant as Roosevelt had plans to further negotiate political issues and the UN. Even though Truman carried on the United Nations, events may have taken a different turn with Roosevelt still alive.
